Due to a change in journal management, publishers and also the journal emphasis and focus, only one issue (containing six papers and an editorial) of The South African Optometrist was published during 2014. This was a once-off interruption in journal production while multi-organizational negotiations were underway during most of 2014 and agreements were reached and contracts signed. The journal has been renamed as African Vision and Eye Health and all papers (about 24) that were received during 2014 have been processed and those that were accepted will be published during 2015 together with additional papers received and eventually accepted for publication during 2015.
